INTRODUCTION After months of field research, the Budapest-based Manush Foundation has created a nine-month – one academic year – pilot project, which is designed to educate the socially disadvantaged youth especially Roma, and their teachers as well. Manush’s three-step programme, the „INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATIONS AND MEDIA EDUCATION PROJECT FOR SOCIALLY DISADVANTAGED TEENAGERS” – focuses on their potential and helps their integration into the information society as well as developing self-esteem and, last but not least, recognizing thecultural values of Roma and Non-Roma communities in relationto each other. |
